Day 11 - We have a hole!

So ... there's a bit of a gap in my posts. As most of you know, there was a mistake that affected our personal lives this past Monday ... my employer apparently lost their marbles and laid me off. It's beyond any explanation that I can come up with ... even my HR person can't adequately explain it to me. But what-ev ... I'm on a paid vacation that could last up to 6 months. Their loss ...

As a result of this development, I now have more time to pick out pendant lights, tiles, cabinet pulls etc, etc. Bonus! So, here's what the place looks like today ...

Not only do we have power, but we have lights ... and a switch to turn them on!







And we've got the header up for the two doors (they are different heights now ... but we are making them the same height ... anyone surprised that I wanted them symmetrical??? Anyone ... anyone ... Beuhler?? I thought not.)








And here is the hole of which I spoke ... this is looking at the wall that goes into the dining room. We're going to have a pass thru into the dining room (thank you Mindi Wetzel for the idea). So they busted out the hole in the wall today.





And here it is from the dining room side ... big fat hole in the wall. Not sure what's next to do ... but it was very satisfying to come home from running errands with Mom today to see this hole in the wall :)
