Day 51 -Countertops and Floors

We've be out of town the past week or so. Took a much needed break from all of the activity at the house. It was very very nice to not have folks traipsing through your living space all day ;) We went with Julie, Steve and Megan to Palm Coast (about 30 minutes south of St. Augustine, Florida). It was very relaxing, and VERY hot!

This is the view from our balcony looking at the pool pavilion thing. It was a really nice pool. Here are the other pictures. There aren't a ton of them. "Relaxing" isn't really that picture worthy ;)

When we got back, here's what we saw ...

The oven cabinet had been removed, modified and reinstalled. They made it about 3/4" too narrow, so they had to take the whole dang thing out of the kitchen. It's probably the biggest piece of cabinetry we have in the kitchen ... it's 112" tall ... that's just shy of 9.5 feet. Obviously the wall oven has not been installed yet, so the moment of truth if it's going to fit has not arrived yet :)

And apparently the Heavy Hitter's 9 million pounds of granite is done, so our countertops were cut and installed. YEAH!! The sink is in too, but it doesn't work yet. That's supposed to be early next week.

Here's the island ... cooktop installed as well, but not hooked up either.

Here's some detail of the island. This is part of the stone is probably my favorite, so I'm glad they put it on the island.

Here's the pass thru ... looking into the dining room.

And here's looking from the dining room into the kitchen.

And, they got the floor stained. We had to stay at mom and dad's for a night while they put the coats of lacquer or whatever on top of the wood. Thanks mom and dad!
